Investing in Scotland’s Ports

I attended the annual Scottish Ports Group and the UK Chamber of Shipping reception at the Scottish Parliament on Tuesday.

Scotland’s maritime sector is integral to our economy and efforts to achieve our climate ambitions.

Its importance to communities across the country is significant, and not just in island and coastal communities.

The event was very well attended by many of the key players in this vital industry.

The principal speaker was Transport Secretary Fiona Hyslop MSP.

I took the opportunity primarily to discuss the need to redevelop Ardrossan Harbour at the earliest date possible.
