On Tuesday in the Chamber, Kenneth asked Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport Jeane Freeman MSP what progress has been made implementing a child death review process, in light of recent ONS figures showing that 218 avoidable child deaths occurred in Scotland in 2017.
In her response, the Cabinet Secretary confirmed that the Scottish Government is establishing a National Hub for the Prevention of Child Deaths which will focus on overseeing the Child Death Review process and ultimately reduce the number of avoidable child deaths in Scotland, with an investment of £1,000,000.
