On Tuesday, Kenneth spoke in the Stage 1 Debate on the Human Tissue (Authorisation) (Scotland) Bill, which seeks to introduce a soft opt-out system of organ and tissue donation for deceased donors.
Having long campaigned on the issue, Kenneth was pleased to lend his whole-hearted support to the principals of the Bill and highlighted that while there is widespread public support for the principle of organ donation, this must be translated into donor numbers.
There is currently a gap between the number of people who state that they would wish to donate organs and the number who join the organ donation register and this legislation will help to redress the balance.
