How England can Benefit from Scotland's Success Tackling Knife Crime

On Wednesday in the Chamber, Kenneth highlighted the 77% drop in knife crime in North Ayrshire since the SNP Government came into office. He asked the Justice Secretary, Humza Yousaf MSP, what lessons can be shared with institutions in England, which are currently grappling with a surge in knife crime - particularly in London. The Justice Secretary advised that the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, intends to put in place a Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) in Londen, which would be based on the VRU model in Glasgow and Scotland, and that view was informed by the very positive engagement that his officials had in Scotland.
