Kenneth met Jenni Hume and wee Scottie of the ‘Have You Got the Bottle’ campaign, which supports a deposit return scheme, at SNP Conference.
Scotland was the first part of the UK to commit to a deposit return scheme and Kenneth would like to see it implemented soon and effectively.
The scheme will be central to the SNP Government’s wider circular economy ambitions and will be an effective way of increasing recycling rates and preventing discarded drinks containers from ending up in our streets and seas.
Ministers are giving careful consideration to the scheme’s design and will set out next steps for its implementation in due course.
