On Tuesday 28 May, Scotland Women's National Team enjoyed a 3-2 victory over Jamaica in a friendly game ahead of the World Cup in France next month.
Turning a draw into a win during an exciting and enjoyable match, Scotland achieved the perfect send-off in front of a record crowd at Hampden of 18,555. The previous attendance record for a women’s game was 4,098.
The first goal was scored by Erin Cuthbert, number 22 below, from Irvine, who was also Player of the Match.
The group stage will see Coach Shelley Kerr’s squad play England on 9 June, Japan, Argentina, Cyprus and Albania.

“I watched the game at Hampden with my staff and the atmosphere in the stadium was tremendous.
“It was a great mix of all ages. The SFA provided my office and Patricia Gibson MP’s with 292 complimentary tickets which we distributed to local schools and community organisations. In all, thousands of children came along with their parents and watched a young Ayrshire woman score for Scotland. What an inspiration!
“I wish our National Team every success at the World Cup in France. I hope and believe all of Scotland will get behind them.”
