At Portfolio Questions on Wednesday, Kenneth asked Minister for Trade, Investment and Innovation Ivan McKee MSP whether the SNP Government had received any clarity from the UK Government on its plans for replacing European Structural Funds with the Shared Prosperity Fund post-Brexit.
In his response, the Minister expressed his concern that the UK Government has neither consulted the SNP Government, nor provided details on its proposals for the Shared Prosperity Fund, which could have a severely negative social and economic impact on local communities and projects in Scotland that currently receive support through the European Structural Funds programme.
The Prime Minister said in the Commons on 05 December last year, in response to a question from Patricia Gibson MP, that her government would consult ‘before Christmas.’ We are still waiting!
