The SNP Government’s Hotel Support Programme (HSP) is now open for expressions of interest.
The HSP will help secure up to 3,000 jobs at Scotland’s larger hotels until the start of the summer 2021 tourism season, recognising the important contribution these businesses make to tourism and the country’s wider economy.
A collaborative initiative between Scotland’s enterprise agencies, VisitScotland and the SNP Government, the programme will allow eligible businesses to apply for individual grants of up to £250,000.
In addition to possible grant support, each successful applicant will be offered a bespoke package of wrap-around business support and advice.
Kenneth Gibson MSP said:
“Large hotels are extremely important to rural, island and small-town communities in particular. In my own constituency, Seamill Hydro and Auchrannie Resort between them employed 370 people directly, prior to the pandemic, with many more in the supply chain.
“This latest initiative will undoubtedly be very welcome across Scotland, saving jobs and securing the future of many hotels that are at the heart of their communities and thousands of livelihoods that go with them.”
Applicants can submit an expression of interest form here. The deadline for submitting an expression of interest form is Wednesday, 09 September at 5:00pm. This is not a first-come-first-served process; all expressions of interest will be assessed after the closing date.
Scottish Enterprise, along with Highlands and Islands Enterprise and South of Scotland Enterprise, will administer the HSP.
