95% of Scottish Cancer Patients are Positive About their Care

Encouraging news for cancer care in Scotland - the 2024 Cancer Patient Experience Survey shows that 95% of cancer patients have expressed a positive view of their care.

Patients rated their overall experience at an impressive 9.1 out of 10, a testament to the dedication and hard work of our NHS staff and the effectiveness of the SNP Government’s Cancer Strategy and Action Plan.

This positive feedback indicates significant progress towards Scotland’s aim of improved cancer survival and excellent, equitably accessible care.

The SNP Government remains committed to further improvements in cancer care, supporting earlier and faster diagnosis, and driving person-centred and holistic care.

The ongoing partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support is crucial in helping people access support for the wide range of non-clinical issues that can arise from a cancer diagnosis.

These results highlight the compassion and quality of care being offered, but also show where improvements are needed.

Everyone diagnosed with cancer in Scotland should receive care and support tailored to their personal needs.

It is important to ensure that every person diagnosed with cancer in Scotland receives the information, care, and support they need, when they need it the most.
