Today, 15 October, is Baby Loss Awareness Day.
Ayrshire Baby Loss Support, formed by people who have themselves lost a child, provides comfort and support to parents who have endured the pain and sadness of stillbirth.
In Patricia Gibson’s case, her undiagnosed preeclampsia also led to a ruptured liver and 19 days in intensive care and high dependency.
Patricia and I were invited to commemorate the loss of own son, Kenneth, who would have been 12 today, by placing his name on the Memorial Tree unveiled at a Dedication Service in Corsehill Park, Ayr.
Marion Boyd and other dedicated members of Ayrshire Baby Loss Support have our thanks for the warmth of their welcome and ongoing commitment to help others.
