I was delighted to be co-sponsoring yesterday’s 16th Holyrood Apple Day, a celebration of orchards and apple growing in Scotland and particularly enjoyed the display of many Scottish Heritage apple varieties, ciders and other apple produce.
Apple Orchard Expert John Hancox of Scottish Fruit Trees gave the keynote address and talked about how over the years his organisation have supported hundreds of school and community orchards, and also increasingly farms and estates with planting for biodiversity, cider and juice making, and for local food production.
