Scotland’s farmers have suffered massively due to Brexit – loss of access to the single market, higher supply chain costs – and the loss of common agricultural policy funding.
Now former senior adviser to Labour Prime Minister Tony Blair, John McTernan, has declared that we don’t need small farmers.
Mr McTernan said:
“If the farmers want to go on the streets - we can do to them what Margaret Thatcher did to the miners…It’s an industry we can do without.
“If people are so upset that they want to go on the streets and spread slurry then we don’t need small farmers.”
Labour can’t be trusted to stand up for Scotland’s farmers.
