New Figures Show Huge Boost in Manufacturing Jobs Under SNP

New findings from Made UK and BDO found that between March 2023 and 2024, 10,000 new manufacturing jobs were established in Scotland, despite the UK as a whole losing over 34,000 jobs in the sector.

The Manufacturing Outlook campaign is a Make UK/BDO partnership providing the most comprehensive barometer of the economic climate facing UK manufacturers, providing up-to-date and detailed intelligence on the state of manufacturing across the UK economy.

The boost is a result of the SNP Government’s work to support Scotland's manufacturing sector through the "Making Scotland's future - a recovery plan for manufacturing" agenda - which prioritised greater sectoral collaboration, access to stronger supply chains, identifying transformative solutions and developing an enhanced workforce.

The SNP will continue to prioritise driving economic growth to ensure we have the resources we need to fund our public services - and at the heart of that will be continuing to support our workforce to ensure that they have the required skills.
