Screen Machine Cumbrae Return Confirmed

Regional Screen Scotland (RSS), which runs the mobile cinema, has announced that it will be visiting Millport between July 29-31, with tickets on sale.

Specially designed rollers fitted to the Cinémobile will enable it to negotiate more slipways with greater ease and visit four more islands including Cumbrae.

Movies being shown will be Inside Out 2, The Bikeriders, Thelma, A Quiet Place: Day One and The Dead Don’t Hurt.

Having actively lobbied Scottish Ministers, I'm delighted that, thanks to £350,000 funding from the SNP Government backed film and TV agency, Screen Scotland, the lease of a mobile cinema from France was extended to April 2026, allowing the Screen Machine to continue visiting Scotland’s rural and island communities, including Cumbrae and Arran.

This allows Regional Screen Scotland further time to commission and build a tailor made new £1.4 million Screen Machine to take the service into the 2030s.
