Kenneth Gibson MSP is urging local organisations in Cunninghame North to apply now for the SNP Government’s new £10 million Scotland Loves Local Fund.
The multi-year support scheme aims to encourage people to buy local by default, supporting businesses and enterprises in our communities. A total of £2 million worth of grants is available this year.
Local organisations like town centre partnerships, chambers of commerce and community and charity trusts can apply for £5,000 - £25,000 in match funding for their projects.
Eligible projects include community shops, marketing and digital schemes, or the delivery of construction projects.
In addition, Scotland’s Towns Partnership has launched the Scotland Loves Local Gift Card scheme, in partnership with the SNP Government and Perth-based fintech specialist Miconex.
The Scotland Loves Local Gift Card is being rolled out across all 32 local authority areas with the creation of 32 unique regional gift cards including a North Ayrshire version, which can only be spent in businesses located in North Ayrshire.
Kenneth Gibson MSP said:
“The Scotland Loves Local Fund was set up by the SNP Government as a way to help our town centres recover from the devastating impact of the pandemic.
“North Ayrshire has a wealth of local community projects to stimulate growth and footfall into the area and this funding will allow them to continue to make our town centres a more vibrant place and stimulate the local economy.
“When people shop locally and support local businesses it boosts the North Ayrshire economy, as money spent here, stays here.
“I urge North Ayrshire groups to apply for the Scotland Loves Local Fund and encourage people in to continue to support local business at every opportunity.”
Applications for the fund are open until Friday 01 October via:
