On Thursday, I spoke in a Parliamentary debate on cancer, which, despite the steady progress made in cutting cancer mortality rates in recent years, remains one of the major causes of disease and death in Scotland.
I welcomed the recent establishment of Cancer Card, a new online hub that brings together the numerous cancer charities and support services that are out there, including Ayrshire Cancer Support and Arran Cancer Support.
The website was set up by Jen Hardy, who after having been diagnosed with stage 4 incurable metastatic breast cancer in October 2017 found that there was no single place for her to obtain useful information related to her illness.
Cancer card now fills that gap, and I would encourage all cancer patients as well as their partners, family members, friends and, indeed, employers to navigate https://www.cancercard.org.uk/ and find the tailored support that is right for each individual.
