On Friday afternoon I participated in a round table discussion with Strathclyde Partnership for Transport looking at the current challenges and opportunities for bus services in Strathclyde, including North Ayrshire of course.
In an engaging discussion followed by questions and answers, the topics included reliability, fares, frequency, funding, ticketing, concessions, legislative context and potential future pathways.
Three SNP MPs, four MSPs and a Conservative MSP and Labour MSP took part, with SPT Chief Executive Valerie Davidson leading and responding to questions.
Everyone was agreed on the crucial role buses play in our communities and the need to support and improve services.
SPT will work closely with elected representatives in the months ahead.
