It was great to catch-up with the teams from The Country Food Trust and BASC Scotland to chat about deer management and the importance of venison as a food source.
Venison is an excellent source of protein and the upcoming need for increased cull numbers has opened the door to initiatives for more of it to go to charitable causes especially, foodbanks.
BASC has already supplied 3,500 free packs of venison bolognaise to charities in Ayrshire.
