National Farmers Union Scotland Raise Concerns about Farm Tax

It was a pleasure to meet with NFU Scotland - Ayrshire Region yesterday, along with my SNP colleague Willie Coffey MSP.

Farmers sustain Scotland’s food supply. Agriculture and its supply chain employs over 67,000 people and is a key employer in rural Scotland.

The sector also has a key role to play in preserving the landscape and contributing to environmental sustainability.

Yet, farmers feel under attack.

The UK Budget imposition a new funding approach and significant changes to inheritance tax for family farms will made many farming businesses unviable for the next generation to take on.

I will continue to support our farmers and ensure their voices are heard loud and clear.
